New York in April is a city on the verge of spring, but not quite there yet. While it was undeniably beautiful there was also this bleak atmosphere in a city devoid of the lush trees I've seen so often in the insta snaps of New Yorker’s. Here’s what it was like.

You could live on Grand Cayman for years and never walk the Mastic Trail -- one of the few trails through the wild forests maintained for walkers by the national trust on the island. Recently, with the help of some like-minded and open-hearted visitors, I walked the trail.
